Taking a positive outlook in pesticides regulation

Following two very successful years, the BCPC Congress will again be taking place at the Hilton Metropole, Brighton, UK on 6-7 October 2015. Organised by BCPC (the British Crop Production Council), in association with TSGE Forum, the Congress will appeal to all stakeholders in the European regulatory community and crop protection industry.

“Already we have in place an excellent programme and speakers which will assure delegates of a highly informative and thought provoking two days,” says Dr Colin Ruscoe, Chairman, BCPC. “We are delighted to announce that Paul Leonard, from BASF, will again be one of the headline presenters. Last year Paul gave us some insight into the ‘Innovation Principle’ and we are looking forward to hearing his current ‘take’ on the role of pesticides in the current climate.”

Most of the sessions and speakers are now confirmed, providing a comprehensive programme that will deliver insight, context and forecasting on the role of pesticides in an ever-demanding public and political environment. The key sessions will include:

  • Review and proposals on 1107/2009;
  • Positive outlook for the assessment for human and environmental health;
  • Other regulations affecting the use of pesticides;
  • Legal highlights
  • Biostimulants – everything you ever wanted to know about them but were afraid to ask.

“The BCPC Congress 2015 is not just about platform sessions but more about the provision of an environment in which debate and lively discussion of this challenging area of the crop protection industry can be aired,” says Dr. Ruscoe. “There will be a Pre-event welcome drinks reception on the evening of 5 October and a Congress Dinner on the 6 October. Last year’s dinner proved very popular with delegates to continue their networking outside the conference hall.”
